NSF funds Energy Efficiency in Computing Logical Operations: Fundamental Limits with and Without Feedback

The National Science Foundation has funded Energy Efficiency in Computing Logical Operations: Fundamental Limits with and Without Feedback (ECCS 1809194, $400K, starting August 2018). This grant supported the lab’s experimental realization of memory erasure protocols that came the closest yet to Landauer’s thermodynamic bound — the topic of our seminal 2017 papers.
